Game of Thrones – The Jailer
I had a fairly busy day so, looking at my list of remaining pictures to do, I thought Varys showing up in his jailer disguise would be nice and easy. I didn’t realize there would be so much hatching!
On top of that, the costume was harder to do than I thought. I couldn’t find anything resembling the “spiked steel cap” he was wearing, so I had to design it. Finally, one of the reasons I sometimes regret treating Mr. Martin’s word as law, torches. They had perfectly good lanterns in the middle ages. Why would anyone, unless they were out in the wild, use a torch? Especially when they are going to have a conference in a room full of straw?
