Mermay 2024 – Day Five – Toy
Today’s prompt, toy, was one of the biggest challenges when I was figuring the list out. The hardest part was it’s a synonym for tomorrow’s prompt dolly. So, my main priority was to choose a toy that was not a doll.
With that, I went back to the Hawaiian vacation narrative. So, while the little mermaid, Camie, may be having a great time, the rules say everything must go wrong for her big sister, Doris.
Based on that, I chase Camie being a pest by wanting to play ball while Doris is sunbathing. My only problem is that while, of course, a ball is a toy, according to my personal pedantry it’s sports gear. To clear it with myself, I switched it with an inflatable hippocampus.
