Mermay 2023 – Day Eleven – Villain

The problem I had with “villain” for a prompt was it was too vague. According to folklore, nearly all mermaids are villains, at least in the way humans would be in the eyes of a pig or cattle. That’s how I’ve been doing my mermaids from Herschel Cove. Even the nice ones are all about the shipwrecks.

Of course, some of them enjoy them more than others.

Cleo, my most traditional, and technically evil, mermaid, was my first choice for this picture. Here she is doing a classical villain pose.

While this is a very simple composition, I think it’s my best Mermay picture this year so far.
