Mermay 2023 – Day Five Cinco De Mayo

From my uninformed, Anglo, perspective, Cinco Del Mayo is just another excuse to get drunk. So, I was at a loss to find a mermaid angle.

Of course, I did my research on why it’s celebrated. But unfortunately, it’s hard to make the Battle of Puebla into a half-hour sketch. (Besides, the City of Puebla is over 200 KM inland.) I took the easy way out and had two mermaids playing maracas.

I’ve had these twin pink mermaids show up twice so far. I don’t know where they fit in my Herschel Cove setting. Since they’re identical to Vivian, I don’t know if Vivian is half of the pair, or if Vivian has two other sisters or… something else.
