Inktober 2020 – Day Ten – Hope
The more esoteric prompts in these sketch challenges are always the hardest, and today’s, “hope”, is no exception. I couldn’t really think of something beyond pictures of people preying. (Now that I think about it, something taking place in a casino would have worked too) But since Inktober doubles as my Halloween ritual, that wouldn’t have been good.
So, for the second time, I found myself falling back to my love of Greek Mythology. In this case the story of Pandora. While I’m sure most people are familiar with the story, they may not be aware that hope was in the box as well, and it stayed behind. (whether because Pandora closed the box it time, or it just chose to stay, depends on the version.)
So… This may be a stretch, and I’m not quite sure how clear it is, I’m pretty happy with it. (Though when I scanned it, I found that the flipped mirror image of it looked better.)
