Game of Thrones – Dany’s Ride
Well, now that I’ve finished Inktober, it’s back to ongoing side projects. So here’s the next of my Game of Thrones series. Daenerys takes her solo ride on her silver mare, feeling more empowered than she ever has.
I know I’ve mentioned this before, but A Song of Ice and Fire has way too many horses! Happily, this picture of the silver is about as good a picture I’ve gotten. Perhaps this is progress.
Once again, I’m trying to flesh out the Dothraki more. The way Mr. Martin makes them the ultimate “warrior people” gets tedious fast. Despite the whole “they do not build thing”, I’m trying to give them some craft. In this picture, I’m trying to include macrame and leatherwork.
The Descent was steep and rocky, but Dany rode fearlessly, and the joy and the danger of it were a song in her heart. All her life Viserys had told her she was a princess, but not until she rode her silver had Daenerys Targaryen ever felt like one.
