Game Of Thrones – Lannister Honor

Game Of Thrones – Lannister Honor

For today’s sketch, we show Tywin and Catelyn having a difference of opinion of what Lannister Honor means. Because the Inn at the Crossroad is full to the brim with Tully loyalists, Catelyn wins the vote.

I’m really happy with this one. It’s one of the few where the idea came almost immediately and, other than a little bit tweaking of the angle and thinking about what some of the faces in the crowd would look like, was just a matter of execution.

The only problem I had was forgetting what chapter it was in. I had thought it was in one of the Catelyn chapters, which I was reluctant to use since it happens within minutes of a scene I had already illustrated. In the show, it is. In the book, it’s four chapters later in a Tyrion chapter. I was briefly scolding myself for not reading the whole scene until I saw it was a flashback.

The other fun thing about this scene is the excuse to sneak in one of Mr. Martin’s best cameos in the whole series, the Three Stooges as Bracken men at arms.

Tyrion spoke up loudly trying to keep the quaver from his voice. “If Lady Stark believes I have some crime to answer for I will go with her and answer it.”
