Mermay 2025 – Day Twenty-One – Aquarium
I was looking forward to this one. It was one of those prompts where I had an idea the instant I saw it. It was going to be another chapter of Dorris’s continuing bad luck. She wouldn’t just be stuck in an aquarium, but the lobster display tank at a seafood restaurant!
Unfortunately, it ended up as a huge mess. Once again, I was dragged down by too much detail for my limited timeframe. It’s better than I thought when I finished it last night, but that’s still in damned with false praise territory.
I still think the principle of this piece is sound. So, for now, I’m considering it a draft for a better finished product.
