A Storm of Swords – The Gates

The gates of the Twins are opening which they had told they weren’t. Sandor is getting a hint that something is up before Arya does.
These nighttime scenes in this format are always a headache and considering the deal with a lot of medieval architecture wouldn’t be much better in the daytime either. But I try to do my best.

I briefly wondered if Sandor was wearing his armor or not before I remembered that was what he mugged the farmer for.

“The castle’s not closed,” Arya said suddenly. The sergeant had said it would be, but he was wrong. The portcullis was being drawn upward even as she watched, and the drawbridge had already been lowered to span the swollen moat. She had been afraid that Lord Frey’s guardsmen would refuse to let them in. For half a heartbeat she chewed her lip, too anxious to smile.
