A Storm of Swords – The Sad Song

Rhaegar performs a sad song that makes Lyanna cry. But only for a minute because she has a brat of a little brother to deal with first.

I’m happy with this one. It shows Lyanna’s personality well and why we regret never knowing her. If I’m going to nitpick, it’s where I put everybody. I probably put the Starks too far in the back of the room. It works dramatically, but considering their rank, Lyanna could have been as little as twenty feet away from Rhaegar.

“Under Harren’s roof he ate and drank with the wolves, and many of their sworn swords besides, barrowdown men and moose and bears and mermen. The dragon prince sang a song so sad it made the wolf maid sniffle, but when her pup brother teased her for crying she poured wine over his head.
