A Storm of Swords – The She-Wolf

The She-Wolf, Lyanna Stark, comes to the little crannogman’s rescue.

This is one of those scenes I had to reread before I drew what I remembered instead of what happened. I remembered this happened in the alleyway of tents in the makeshift village outside Harrenhal rather than the field next to it. It must be from looking at N. C. Wyeth’s illustrations of Ivanhoe and Robin Hood.

I also enjoyed drawing Lyanna in full tomboy mode.

“None offered a name, but he marked their faces well so he could revenge himself upon them later. They shoved him down every time he tried to rise, and kicked him when he curled up on the ground. But then they heard a roar. ‘That’s my father’s man you’re kicking,’ howled the she-wolf.”
