A Storm of Swords – Dragonstone

A Storm of Swords – Dragonstone

Davos arrives at Dragonstone.

I went with a bird’s eye view of the Shayala’s Dance since I had already done a picture of Daenerys leaning over a ship’s railing last week.

It was an interesting challenge.

figuring out what Dragonstone looks like. I didn’t see any versions that had it built on the side of the Dragonmont as described in this chapter. I admit I probably made the Dragon mount too large but rule one of A Song Of Ice and fire is when in doubt think big.

Mr. Martin describes Dragonstone’s towers as sculpted in the shape of dragons. So, I went with that. The distance allowed me to fudge the details.

Dragonstone loomed larger with every stroke of the oars. Davos could see the shape of the mountain now, and on its side the great black citadel with its gargoyles and dragon towers.
