A Storm of Swords – Margaery

A Storm of Swords – Margaery

Sansa is thinking about burying herself in a deep pit for saying the wrong thing to Loras Tyrell. Fortunately, his sister Margaery comes out to greet her personally.

I’m really happy how this one turned out. I found Margaery’s dress in the fantastic A Cyclopaedia of Costume, or Dictionary of Dress by James Planche. It’s from the reign of Edward IV. My only problem with it was that when I reread the scene and realized I missed the stairs in front of the entrance to the Maidenvault. On a lesser note, it was a headache drawing Arryk and Erryk. Mr. Martin says they are wearing half-helms and cloaks. Nothing else is mentioned!

Left and Right opened the doors, and Margaery Tyrell herself emerged and swept down the short flight of steps to greet them. “Lady Sansa,” she called, “I’m so pleased you came. Be welcome.”
