A Clash of Kings – Riot
The mother heard her. Somehow the queen’s voice cut through the woman’s ravaged wits. Her slack face twisted in loathing. “Whore!” she shrieked. “Kingslayer’s whore! Brotherf*cker!” Her dead child dropped from her arms like a sack of flour as she pointed at Cersei. “Brotherf*cker brotherf*cker brotherf*cker.”
A Clash of Kings Chapter 41 – Tyrion
The riot in King’s Landing begins. This scene tends to lead to some interesting fan theories. The consensus likes to think the madwoman is either one of Varys or Littlefinger’s plants.
As an illustrator, I generally make a point of taking everything at face value, so most of that doesn’t matter. It was fun doing the crowd and the only big challenge was getting the foreshortening on the madwoman’s arm right.
