A Clash of Kings – Damphair
Theon Greyjoy returns arrives in the Iron Islands. In Lordsport, he runs into his Uncle Aeron, better known as Damphair, who forces a blessing on him.
This was a tough one to do. I’ve been trying to avoid pictures that are just medium shots of two people interacting. I’ve mostly been doing this by backing away so that these figures are part of the bigger picture. In this case, we get to see the ironborn fleet being mobilized. We also get to see life in Lordsport. For a culture that goes on about the iron price, it has a fairly active economy!
“Let Theon your servant be born again from the sea, as you were,” Aeron Greyjoy intoned. “Bless him with salt, bless him with stone, bless him with steel. Nephew, do you still know the words?”
“What is dead may never die,” Theon said, remembering.
“What is dead may never die,” his uncle echoed, “but rises again, harder and stronger. Stand.”
