Inktober 2020 – Day Five – Blade

It took me a while to think of something good for today’s prompt, blade. Well, actually it didn’t, but since I’d already done movie serial killers last year, it took me a while to think of something else.

The solution came from the fact that my current reading is The First Law trilogy by Joe Abercrombie. One of the best characters in the series (best is a relative term in this case since he’s a terrible person, who, in any other setting would be a villain) is Sand dan Glokta of His Majesty’s Inquisition.

One of the first things I noticed when reading one of Glokta’s… sessions, was his technique was just as much psychological as it was physical. Frequently showing the victim the equipment was just as effective as using it.

Technically this drawing shows blades, but I’ll rationalize by saying there is at least one blade in the box.

For today's Inktober drawing a torturer shows his victim every blade in his collection.
