Inktober 2016 – Day Thirteen – Ash

I chose the definition of the tree for today’s prompt, ash, mainly because there are lot more Halloween connotations and I was feeling contrary. Besides, I haven’t done witches yet. So, here’s a Witches Coven led by someone dressed as the Horned God. He may be either Cerrunos or Herne the Hunter.

Interesting point about Herne. I read a very interesting article saying Herne was mostly a local ghost, mentioned in Shakespeare’s Merry Wives of Winsor. He was only promoted to a version of the Horned God recently by neopagans. (though technically, this can’t be Herne because, according to the Shakespeare quote, Herne haunts an Oak, not an Ash.)

Finally, I can’t help being curious about whether Tumblr is going to block my post of this picture there. I’ve found their censorship policy to be as inconsistent as it is stupid so they could react to the nudity either way. Admittedly the way it’s drawn, maybe some witches like full-body leotards.
