After another hiatus, I’m finally getting around to working on my Game of Thrones series again. Let’s start with Arya working on her needlework. (the other kind)
I’m afraid I rushed a bit, and didn’t read the entire page before I started drawing. Because of this I missed a lot of the context. Happily I got lucky but I still missed a lot of things, most notably that Arya is being wound up by Sansa and Jeyne Poole. I certainly would have liked to have included them in the foreground.
For the most part I found myself focusing on Septa Mordane. Along with coming up with a working nun’s uniform, I found myself wondering about her life. The Faith of the Seven is a minority in the North. Was she from White Harbor, or did she come from the Riverlands as part of Catelyn’s retinue?
Finally I tried to design a “Rosary” for the Faith of the Seven. It basically consists of a small seven-pointed star with the other gods’ symbols hanging from it. The only problem is the only symbol mentioned is the Smith’s hammer.
Arya wanted to scream. It was just like Sansa to attract the septa’s attention. “Here,” she said surrendering up her work.
