Game of Thrones – The High Road
After a bit of a hiatus, I got back to working on this exercise, with Catelyn dragging Tyrion up the High Road for safe keeping in the Eyrie.
Because I thought I was a bit rusty I’d shuffled the list of pages I had “harvested” so I could find one that was easier than the page I had scheduled to start with. Instead, I got one that featured one of my main nemeses, horses.
There were several approaches that I had considered, one with Tyrion in the foreground looking towards Catelyn, and the other vice versa. Both of those approaches felt too similar to other pictures I’d already done. I eventually decided on having them ride side by side in the midground so both the line of horses they were riding with and the scale of the landscape.
(Note: I can’t help wondering if Catelyn taking the High Road was a deliberate pun on Mr. Martin’s part)

Catelyn gave him the finest of smiles. “Often and loudly,” she agreed. “No doubt your friends will ride that way when they come after us. I wish them good speed.”
