Mermay Day Ten – Ashamed

For this prompt, ashamed, we have the return of one of the return of one of the recurring mermaids from last year’s Mermay. I’ve chosen to call her Doris.

To put it mildly, Doris is a hard-luck case. She gets caught by fishermen and when she goes to the surface it just happens to be raining.

Whatever happened that has her hiding her head, it doesn’t look as if things are getting better for her.
