Game of Thrones – Dany’s Wedding
We’re back to Daenerys again at her wedding party, nervous and alone. Martin was a little lax on the details so I kind of fudged things by merging the best of the three ceremonies together focusing on the fact that while Dany is the center of attention here, she’s primarily just a prop. She’s very aware of this fact.
After that, I tried to figure out what assorted Essossi looked like beyond “generic Italian Renaissance”. At the moment I’m doing Braavossi as mostly Venetian, dressed in black. I can’t show the Pentossi dyed bear but I tried to give them impressive beards that were worth dying. Finally, I gave the token Qohorik a Russian style hat.
The Dothraki Bloodrider in the foreground might be Khal Drogo, but I’m not committing to it. I still have trouble with the look of the Dothraki in general and I’m still finetuning it. Based on what I know about real pastoral nomads, I have problems with them looking like giant bodybuilders. I’m trying to make them as thin and wiry as Mr. Martin will allow.
